The walk – a favourite with local residents and visitors – is now a sea of blossom with views of the coast and sea.
The path, leading up North Hill from the seafront, had become overgrown and its spectacular views obscured by vegetation.
Thanks to funding from Minehead’s Coastal Communities Team, West Somerset Council staff tackled the “jungle”, clearing the way for other work to be done. Minehead Town Council helped towards the cost of flower bulbs and repairs to benches.
Once the vegetation had been cleared, council staff and the community payback team planted countless daffodils, snowdrops and native bluebells and the buds have come into full bloom.
“The path is looking spectacular – it’s a wonderful natural asset and the spring bulbs have created an amazing backdrop to some of the best views on West Somerset’s coast,” said Cllr Martin Dewdney, Lead Member for Environment at West Somerset Council.
“I would like to thank everyone who has been involved – our partners and the community payback team. It’s been a really worthwhile project.”
