PROPOSED MODIFICATIONS TO THE WEST SOMERSET LOCAL PLAN TO 2032
The West Somerset Local Plan to 2032 was published for formal representations to be made during the period 10th February to 23rd March 2015. The Local Plan was subsequently submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination on the 31st July 2015. An independent inspector, Mr Brian Cook BA (HONS) DIPTP MRTPI, was appointed by the Secretary of State to conduct a Public Examination of the Local Plan and hearing sessions took place between 14th and 22nd of March 2016.
The Main Modifications now proposed arise from indications given by the Inspector, both in the initial Examination correspondence and in the Examination Hearings, of the need for such Main Modifications in the interests of enabling the Plan to be found sound and capable of adoption. The Proposed Modifications documents are available to download below.
The Proposed Modifications documents comprise:
The Main Modifications, together with a number of Additional Modifications, are published for a period of six weeks public consultation, to give all interested parties the opportunity to comment on them during the following period: From 00:01 Friday 3rd June until 23:59 Friday 15th July 2016.
Paper copies are also available to view at: West Somerset Council’s offices in Williton and Minehead, and also at the Exmoor National Park Authority offices in Dulverton, Somerset County Council’s offices in Taunton and the public Libraries within West Somerset District during their normal public opening hours.
Please note that the Inspector will only consider representations made in respect of the soundness of the proposed Main Modifications and not in respect of the Plan as a whole. Whilst representations may also be made in respect of the proposed Additional Modifications (which do not bear directly on the Plan’s soundness), these will be considered by the Council at adoption report stage and not by the Inspector.
Responses should clearly identify the Main Modification and / or Additional Modification reference numbers on which representations are being made. These can be found in tables 1 & 2 in Appendix A.
Please note that this consultation is open for anyone to respond to.
Representations should be made by post or e-mail to the Programme Officer for the West Somerset Local Plan to 2032, West Somerset Council, West Somerset House, Killick Way, Williton, TA4 4QA or ProgrammeOfficer@westsomerset.gov.uk
