The West Somerset Core Strategy initial community involvement stage or issues consultation included notifying the community and other stakeholders of the preparation of the Core Strategy, and seeking feedback on what the key issues facing West Somerset District (outside the Exmoor National Park) were and what the Core Strategy for the area should contain.
This consultation marked the beginning of a process of continuing public engagement to help shape the Draft Core Strategy up to the point of its submission to the Secretary of State for examination. It is essential for the community and other stakeholders to take an active part in this process as the policies produced will help to shape the future development of the District's communities for many years to come. The consultation period ran from 8 July to 1 September 2009, the West Somerset Says consultation website provided the facility to make responses online, including the ability to upload documents (subject to a 15mb upload limit). The consultation documents may be viewed and downloaded under Related Documents on the right hand side of the page.
