Local Plan to 2032 Revised Preferred Strategy

The West Somerset Local Plan to 2032 is the latest draft of the emerging plan, which is currently being prepared for formal Publication.  The documents can be downloaded from the 'Related Documents' section on the right hand side of the page.

From the 29th July to the 23rd September 2013 the Council consulted on a revised Preferred Strategy for the Local Plan with proposed changes responding to the new requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework.

The main changes affected the Plan's housing policies and the allocation of proposed key strategic development sites at Minehead, Watchet and Williton.  The covering letter included a table indicating which policies had been amended, replaced or had been introduced as new policies.  The consultation document and appendix provided the detail of exactly what was proposed in each case.  In the consultation document, changes to the policies were highlighted with new text being emboldened and deleted text being crossed through.

The consultation documentation remains available to view and download from the Related Documents section on the right hand side of this page.  This comprises: - the Revised Local Plan Preferred Strategy, an Appendix containing the figures and the explanatory covering letter / response form.
