Further details of this fund and other funds available to communities affected by the Hinkley Point C development are available at www.hpcfunds.co.uk/. Please check this website before proceeding with your Expression of Interest to the HPC CIM Fund to ensure you are applying to the correct fund for your project.
The CIM Fund has been set up to support projects that aim to help communities in Somerset – and especially in West Somerset and Sedgemoor - affected by the development of Hinkley Point C.
The construction of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and its associated projects (such as highway improvements, park and ride schemes, worker accommodation campuses etc) are likely to have an impact on our communities – these impacts may be direct or indirect, positive or negative.
Our communities are likely to be impacted by
An increase in population due to construction workers and their families moving in to the area,
An increase in local job, education and training opportunities,
An increase in traffic and HGV movements and road works,
An increase in demand for facilities and services, housing and accommodation.
If your community is facing a problem or an issue due to the development of Hinkley Point C your organisation can apply for funding for a project that will help to reduce or solve the issue.
Your organisation can also apply for funding for a project that will support a community to take advantage of opportunities that arise due to the development of Hinkley Point C.
Your organisation must be community based and not for profit - for example a voluntary sector organisation or charity, social enterprise or Parish, Town or District Council.
Your project must aim to improve the social, economic or environmental wellbeing of communities that are affected by the development of Hinkley Point C.
