Vehicle pollution is the biggest single threat to air quality in the county, and there is widespread agreement that more must be done to target polluting vehicles.
No vehicle (petrol or diesel) needs to smoke badly - those that do are out of tune or require maintenance. West Somerset Council encourage their residents to be 'smoke spotters' and report polluting commercial vehicles.
The public can help to reduce emissions by reporting vehicles to the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) who will contact the vehicle operator and investigate the report.
To report a smokey vehicle please ring VOSA on 0870 6060440
