This control extends to both private and public buildings, with plan checking and site inspections being undertaken by Building Control Officers.

Changes to the Building Control Service
Your West Somerset Building Control service is transforming into something bigger and better.
Whilst we undergo these internal changes there may be some difficulties in making direct contact with the Building Control team, so we ask that you please leave messages by voicemail 01984 635275 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org when you have not been able to speak to us in person. All calls will be returned as soon as possible.
Applications and inspection services will not be affected, although there might be short delays in sending out standard letters.
Every effort will be made to ensure callers to West Somerset House reception will be seen between 9 and 10am and 4 and 5pm Mondays to Thursdays, but we would ask that you pre-book an appointment to avoid disappointment or a wasted journey.
