Wheddon Cross
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and an abundance of wildlife, Wheddon Cross is a small village very close to Cutcombe. They are both separate villages but in effect form one large village in the centre of Exmoor National Park. Together with the hamlet of Luckwell Bridge, about half a mile to the west, they make up the parish of Cutcombe.
Wheddon Cross/Cutcombe is the highest village on Exmoor and is situated on the crossroads of the main routes that run between Minehead and Dulverton (from north to south) and from Taunton through to North Devon (from east to west).
It is a good centre for walking, riding and each of the four seasons offer different things for the visitor to see. Dunkery Beacon which is 1704 feet above sea level is the focal point of the village and Exmoor National Park stands majestically over it.
It is nine miles from both the coastal resort of Minehead and the town of Dulverton and also close to the picturesque village of Dunster and Exford.
