Decent Homes Assistance Grant
This discretionary grant aims to help with the costs of small works of improvement or an adaptation to a dwelling to enhance the safety, security and well-being of vulnerable clients, ie the elderly or disabled and low-income households. The maximum amount of assistance is £4,000. Please note: there are no grants available at the moment.
This grant typically helps with financing the replacement of windows and doors, electrical rewiring and for fast tracking very minor disabled adaptations, particularly when someone who is disabled is being discharged from hospital. The grant is only available should the Council determine that you are not eligible for the low interest loan offered through Wessex Home Improvement loans.
