The Council has a deposit scheme to help applicants secure privately rented accommodation. Many landlords and letting agencies in the district accept deposits from the Council and also accept households in receipt of benefits.

On alternate Fridays they have an open door policy between 9.00am – 12.00pm at West Somerset Council, Customer Centre, 1 - 3 Summerland Road, Minehead. Support offered, discuss housing issues, help filling in forms etc, access local papers and telephones.
