Landlord Accreditation is a FREE voluntary self certifying scheme where good landlords join up and agree to operate within the Partnership standards. 

The scheme which is a partnership between Sedgemoor District Council, West Somerset District Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council.  

The Accreditation Officer works with private sector landlords to raise the management standards and physical standards of their properties. Membership is free whatever the size of portfolio and there is a list below of incentives which is not exhaustive:

  • Grants up to £3,000
  • Low interest 4%Loans from £1,000 - £15,000
  • Dedicated phone line to Housing Benefit and Housing Advice
  • Free advertising on Homefinder Somerset
  • Membership card and certificate
  • Energy Performance certificates at a discounted rate
  • A regular e- newsletter keeping you updated on new legislation
  • Free copies of Assured Shorthold Tenancy and Section 21 Notices

 

To apply for the free voluntary scheme you simply need to fill out the forms H03: Application and checklist for scheme membership; H04: Landlords Code of Practice; H06: Self Assessment Inspection (which are online forms below) and H05: Property Ownership Portfolio Details (which is a PDF in Related Documents on the right).
