Some bring banks in West Somerset are being removed from January 28 following the introduction of Sort It Plus. Privately managed bring banks are not affected.
The Community Council for Somerset has launched a community oil scheme. The scheme uses the model of a local buying syndicate for domestic heating oil, but rolls it out across the whole county of Somerset.
If you receive the Winter Fuel Payment from the Government but do not need it please consider donating some or all of it to the Somerset Community Foundation to help elderly and vulnerable people this winter.

West Somerset Council covers 280 square miles of coast and countryside.
The population of the district is approximately 35,000 with about one third living in Minehead, which is the principal town.
The district encompasses Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with much of the district area falling within the area of the Exmoor National Park.
