Best Value Performance Plans
Copies of the full Best Value Performance Plans (BVPP) can be obtained from Customer Services, the council reception at Williton or by email from customerservices@westsomerset.gov.uk
The Plans can also be provided in large print, braille, tape format or in other languages on request and are available in local libraries and Council Information Points.
Best Value is the method of managing the Council that puts the needs and wishes of the service users and people of West Somerset first. It emphasises the need to continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, efficiency and cost of each service to benefit our community. This is done through ongoing monitoring and review, known as "performance management".
The authority monitors services by collecting Performance Indicators (PIs) and reporting them to our Committee every three months.
The authority has a statutory duty to produce a Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP) annually by 30 June. This contains detailed information about the Council's performance over the past year, where the Council intends to improve and what it is planning to do in subsequent years.
End of Year Report 2008
In previous years it has been a legal requirement for the Council to publish a Performance Plan at the end of June each year. This requirement no longer exists and this year the Council is only publishing a short report containing information on performance indicators which can be downloaded under Related Documents.
