Councillors Allowances Scheme
The Council has received a report made by an independent remuneration panel recommending a new scheme of allowances with effect from May 2007. In accordance with Regulation 21 of The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003, copies of the report are available for inspection at the Council Offices, Williton or can be downloaded under Related Documents.
Basic Allowance
The basic allowance paid to all Councillors will be £2,733 per annum.
Special Responsibility Allowances
The following Special Responsibility Allowances will be payable:
Leader of Council - £8,199 per annum
Deputy Leader of Council - £6,832.50 per annum
Portfolio Holders - £6,832.50 per annum
Executive Support and Democracy Portfolio Holder - £2,733 per annum
Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee - £5,466 per annum
Chairman of the Planning Committee - £5,466 per annum
Chairman of the Licensing Committee - £1,366.50 per annum
Independent Chairman of Standards Committee - £1,104 per annum
Independent Members of Standards Committee - £522 per annum
