Schools and road information
For more information on any school closures or disruptions to roads in West Somerset, please see the Somerset County Council website.
Flooding
Flooding in the district remains a possibility given sufficient heavy rainfall. However, it should be noted that relatively few people or properties are at risk. Residents of West Somerset are reminded that they have the responsibility to protect their properties from flooding.
Because of recent heavy rains, there are flood warnings and alerts throughout the region. We've added a flood widget from the Environment Agency to this page. More information
Taking care of yourself and others in winter
If you have an elderly, vulnerable neighbour or relative, look out for them in the winter months.
Icy roads and snow means they may not be able to get out and about. They may need help with shopping, clearing paths, getting a repeat prescription, walking the dog - or they may just need to see a friendly face.
