Destitute or Pauper’s Burial
The Local Authority is required under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 to arrange for the disposal of the body if a person dies in the district and no arrangements are being made for the funeral. Requests for assistance can be made where no arrangements have been made, there is no will, or there are no relatives willing to pay and make the arrangements. More details see Public Funerals
